Culture of Corruption Destroys Political Careers—Except for Democrats
John W Lillpop
Much has been made about how corruption lead to the downfall of incumbent politicians just over a week ago. That is true with respect to GOP candidates, but not so true when it comes to Democrats.
Consider the Democrat incumbents who won reelection despite corruption and or outright criminality:
John Murtha (D-PA): Abscam and coziness with defense contractors make this fellow a very integrity-challenged Democrat. In line to become majority leader of the U.S. House if you can imagine!
Patrick Kennedy (D-RI): Drives while looped and loaded, but was still reelected!
Teddy Kennedy (D-Mass): Proved 38 years old that booze and driving do not mix—unless one is a millionaire senator named Kennedy in Massachusetts!
Robert Byrd (D-VA): A former leader in the Klu Klux Klan, Byrd is the Democrats’ “Voice of the Senate!”
Harry Reid (D-Nevada): Accepts free boxing tickets from constituents with legislation pending in the U.S. Senate and gives new meaning to the word “sleaze” when it comes to real estate transactions.
William J. Jefferson (D-LA): This pearl of the Democrat party won reelection despite being caught on video accepting $100,000 in bribes. Perhaps he funded his campaign with money stashed in freezers undiscovered by the FBI?
Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY): This corrupt liberal has yet to face justice for a rap sheet of offenses too long to repeat. Her most petty crime involved pinching china and other goodies from the White House on January 19, 2000, and whoring out presidential pardons until the last moment before her unfit spouse left office on January 20, 2000.
Granted, liberal cop beater Cynthia McKenzie was weeded out, but her demise is the exception rather than the rule for liberals.
Seven Democrats who are serving as leaders of the Democrat party, but who should probably be serving time in federal prison!
A Culture of Corruption, indeed!
