Civility made a modest comeback in West Hollywood as the loony loser who displayed a mannequin of Governor Palin hanging at the end of a noose finally relented and took the dummy down.
As it turns out, the real dummy was ChadMichael Morrisette, the West Hollywood window designer who set up the life-size mannequin of Governor Palin as a Halloween prank.
Under pressure from neighbors and West Hollywood Mayor Jeffrey Prang, Morrisette eventually decided it was best to remove the Halloween decoration.

Common sense finally wins the day, right?
Not exactly. It turns out that Morrisette was driven by neighbors who were mostly concerned that the Palin effigy would cast a bad light on the city's gay community.
To hell with decency and doing the right thing, it was liberal angst over the negative publicity accruing to gays that brought the dummy down!
On reflection, perhaps that Halloween "decoration" was not so uproariously funny to begin with?
