John W. Lillpop
If angst over the fall of Washington, D.C. into unfriendly hands has distorted your vision, please be reminded that tomorrow is November 11.
That means it is Veteran’s Day-- and time to celebrate, applaud, congratulate, and extol those who have served in the U.S. military.
Above all else, it is time to THANK those honorable men and women whose service and sacrifices were made to defend and uphold our cherished liberties, freedoms, and way of life.
Because American veterans fought in World War II, evil menaces like Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito were vanquished. Brave American veterans have also defended freedom in Korea, Viet Nam, and elsewhere as ordered by America’s commander-in-chief.
Contrary to the “botched joke” uttered by a failed presidential candidate and so-called “war hero,” those who have and continue to serve in the U.S. military are the best educated and brightest among us.
And that includes the brave men and women currently “stuck in Iraq.”
May God bestow a special blessing on American veterans this Veteran’s Day.
